Spanish Wednesdays!
I wanted to explain my Spanish curriculum for the year. I am doing my Spanish lessons on Wednesdays. My circle is focused around Spanish-- we do calendar in Spanish on those days (days of the week, counting in Spanish, etc.) After we do calendar, there is a focused Spanish lesson. I am focusing on one theme for the ENTIRE month. That means we have four focused Spanish lessons a month.
For the month of September I am teaching them the Spanish alfabeto. This is challenging, I understand! The good thing about their alfabeto is that it is almost the same as ours! Only a few additional letters/sounds. That is really helpful! I am using this great CD that has many Spanish songs on it to help teach these concepts.
Spanish Vocabulary:
Days of the week: Domingo (Sunday), Lunes (Monday), Martes (Tuesday), Miercoles (Wednesday), Jueves (Thursday), Viernes (Friday), Sabado (Saturday)
Calendar words: Ayer (yesterday), hoy (today), manana (tomorrow)
Here is the song I am using to teach the alfabeto-- try and play it for our child at home. This will help them learn it!
